Ephesians 6:12

Ephesians 6:12 has been so twisted by religious assholes, that we need to explore it further to ensure we understand what God is saying here.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Every time I've heard this scripture taught, without exception, the second part of the verse has been completely ignored. This is basically all that people see and teach in this verse.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

Is that all the verse says? No it isn't.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Broken cisterns use this verse to strip God's people of the will to fight. The verse does not tell us not to fight, it tells us who to fight. It is Lucifer and his angels who don't want us to fight. They want us to lie down and die like good little christians. Well, I'm sick to fucking death of trying to be a good little christian. We're sons of God and we have the right and the authority to stand and fight.

When God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, our redemption was secured. Jesus Christ gave his life so we could be more than conquerors and destroy the works of the devil. Do you think he's happy up there watching us cry our eyes out like good little christians because life is hard? Do you think God enjoys watching us being stolen from, killed and destroyed while we lamely accept it like good little christians?

By the way, here's another angle on Jesus Christ's temptation in the wilderness which I hadn't thought about until today. I was walking along the beach, watching the waves crash gently against the shore, thinking about this chapter, when an amazing thought hit me like a wave crashing over me.

Jesus Christ had perfect blood right? Of course that's right. He had perfect blood, so he would have lived forever in his physical body had he chosen to do so. When the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world and offered him the power of it, he wasn't offering him something temporary, it would have been permanent. Do you not think Jesus Christ was tempted with that? He could have lived forever as the president, the king, the supreme ruler of the world. He could have avoided the torture, crucifixion and death he knew was coming, and instead had fleets of fancy chariots, palaces, and the praise and worship of all men. All he had to do was worship Lucifer and the world would have been his. No death, no torture, no crucifixion, and an endless life as the supreme king over all the earth. He turned that down for us.

As children of the living God, we are to wrestle against the rulers of the darkness of this world. How do we do that? Well, it isn't by screaming at the sky and shaking our fists. We can't kill devil spirits and we sure wouldn't want to catch one. We do it the same way Jesus Christ did.

Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Do we have the spirit of God in Christ in us? Yes, we do. Can we preach the word to those who desperately need it? Can we heal the broken hearted? Can we preach deliverance and bring light to those who are imprisoned? Can we open the eyes of the spiritually blind? Can we set free those who have been beaten up by the world? Yes, we can, but it won't happen if we don't get out there and fight for people.

Acts 5:20
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

It is the word that sets people free. It is the word that is life. As children of the living God, we have the right and the authority to take God's word to the world and destroy the works of the devil.

As we live the word and teach it, people receive eternal life, they are set free. That's how we destroy the works of the devil. That's how we wrestle against principalities, that's how we wrestle against powers, that's how we wrestle against the rulers of the darkness of this world. That's how we wrestle against spiritual wickedness from on high.

Ephesians 5:14
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Every time we teach the word and someone is born again, we raise them from the dead. Jesus Christ could not give anyone eternal life. Even when he raised people from the dead, they did not have eternal life. Lazarus was raised from the dead, but he later died again. Being raised from the dead did not give him eternal life. When we teach people Romans 10:9 and they are born again, they receive spirit, they are made whole, they receive eternal life. We raise them from the dead.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we speak the word accurately, we raise people from the dead and they receive eternal life. This is the greater works that Jesus Christ referred to.

John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Had the god of this world known that we would be able to raise men from the dead and give them eternal life, he would not have crucified Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:7,8
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

We are children of the living God. Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. We can do greater works than Jesus Christ did.

Romans 8:16-19
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer [endure] with him, that we may be also glorified together.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

For the earnest expectation of the creature [creation] waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

It's time we lifted up our heads, manifested the power of the Christ in us as children of the living God, and spoke all the words of this life.

Philippians 2:13-16
For it is God which worketh [energises] in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

This is our time. Let's destroy the works of the devil as children of the living God and go raise a few people from the dead.
