89 - Living Sanctified

Living sanctified is a term that's much taught in religious circles, and after listening to hundreds of teachings, and even sitting through classes that carry the name, it still never made any sense to me. How do I know if I'm living sanctified?

If you want to get bogged down in Greek words and heavy research and do word studies and listen to teachings for hour after hour on the subject, yet learn nothing, go to church or join a ministry.

So what is living sanctified? After all the teachings I sat through, the only thing I came away with was that living sanctified meant living set apart from the world. Really?

I remember after one class while everyone was slurping tea, scoffing biscuits, and chatting about what was on telly that night I suppose, I sat there and scratched my head. We have to live set apart from the world? What does that mean?

So, for years and years, decades in fact, it was always in the back of my mind. What do I have to do to live sanctified? Did it mean I had to be some kind of super duper christian? Did it mean reading and studying the bible for hours every day? Did it mean knocking doors and annoying people? Did it mean giving your whole life to some church or ministry? Did it mean getting along with everyone? Was it a mix of all that? Was my life so good today that I was living sanctified?

This morning, Father bugged me to start writing this chapter. I had no idea why, but he kept pestering me to get started. I was playing a computer game and told him I'd get to it. After about the fifth or sixth time, he said please. That got my attention. So I opened a new word document, and then he rocked my world.

I'm writing this in a state of shock, relief, and euphoria, but don't worry, this won't take long. In fact, I think this will be the shortest teaching I've ever done. I hope this new light rocks your world as it did mine.

1 Corinthians 1:1,2
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

We learn from these opening verses in Corinthians that we in the church of God are sanctified in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

We learn from this verse that sanctification is something Jesus Christ did for us, it wasn't something we did for ourselves. We are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God. When we receive the gift of holy spirit, from that moment on we are sanctified. It isn't something we do, it's something that was done for us.

Ready to be rocked?

The term living sanctified isn't in the bible.

And that's all I'm going to say about it.

If you're born again and have the gift of holy spirit, you're sanctified. There's nothing you can do to live sanctified because you already are. You can't do anything to live sanctified.

That's why I never understood it. It isn't something I do, it's something someone did for me. I'm already living sanctified every day because of what Christ Jesus accomplished on my behalf, and so is everyone else who has the gift of holy spirit. It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with anything we may or may not do.

Hebrews 10:14-17
For by one offering he [Jesus Christ] hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Whereof the Holy Ghost [holy spirit] also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

So all those shithole broken cisterns with all their classes and lectures on what they think we should be doing to live sanctified can go and fuck themselves.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

I hope you've enjoyed this class on living sanctified.
