The Revelation Manifestations
The revelation manifestations of word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits are not for our own personal use and profit, they are only there so we can help others. This means of course that we cannot operate revelation manifestations for our own personal profit, benefit and gain. I know I'm repeating myself here, but you might have to read this a few times before the truth of it starts to hit you. You see, for decades I've wondered why God has never given me revelation regarding personal matters.
Let me illustrate. I read a book once about Dr Victor Paul Wierwille's brother Harry, who owned a furniture rental business. The book said that Harry used the revelation manifestations to make money through his business. When he had a quiet morning or afternoon, he would drive around town and God would give him revelation if he drove by a house and they were thinking of renting furniture. He would stop, knock the door, introduce himself, and hand them a business card. He made fortunes by receiving revelation like this. Terrific hey?
I was in sales and sales management for twelve years, and not once in all that time did God ever give me revelation so I could make money. Not once, yet he gave revelation to Harry. You have no idea how much this has been in the back of my mind through the years. Did God not want to talk to me or something? Was Harry some kind of special person? Whenever these thoughts came up in my mind, although I didn't understand it, I always countered them with scriptures that clearly state that God is no respecter of persons, and that I had the same amount of holy spirit that Harry did.
Is God a respecter of persons? No, he isn't. Do any of us have any more spirit than anyone else in the body of Christ? No, absolutely not. Harry had no more spirit than you and me, and I have no more spirit than anyone else and nor do you. We all have the same measure of the gift of Christ. So what's the answer? Why did God give Harry revelation that made him money in his business but never gave me any? I never understood this until I began work on this chapter, and I'm still in a bit of a daze as it's sinking in.
The key to understanding this is realising that revelation manifestations are not there for our own personal use and profit, they are not for our own personal benefit and gain, they are only there so we can help others. You see, every year Harry would empty his bank account leaving just $1 and give the entire proceeds of his business to his brother Victor to help him with his ministry work. Dr Wierwille mentioned a few times that he didn't know how he would have moved the word without his brother's financial support. Harry received revelation to make money because it wasn't for his own personal profit, it was to profit us as Dr Wierwille moved his ministry.
In all my years in sales, the revelation I dreamed about receiving was only to make me money. That's why the revelation was never there. Hey, if God always supplies all my need, what do I need revelation to make money for?
Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Harry was operating revelation manifestations to help his brother move the word, I was trying to operate revelation manifestations to make me more money. My need was supplied, but I wanted more. I remember driving around in a lovely new Vauxhall Cavalier, yet all the time wishing I had a Mercedes. A couple of years later I was driving around in a gorgeous black Mercedes 190e, with lowered suspension, alloys and a rear spoiler. Was I thankful? No, I then drove around wishing I had an Aston Martin. All my need was supplied abundantly, but instead of being thankful, I always wanted more. Revelation manifestations are not there to satiate greed.
One thing I now have clear in my mind since looking around in this new light is that walking by the spirit and receiving revelation are two very different things. Walking by the spirit and operating any of the 9 manifestations for that matter are very different things. Sit down and think about that for a minute. Walking by the spirit and operating revelation manifestations are not the same thing.
Walking by the spirit doesn't mean you are operating manifestations all the time. Similarly, you don't have to be operating manifestations to be walking by the spirit. Manifestations are there to help us when we're walking by the spirit. Do you need to walk by the spirit to speak in tongues? No, that's absurd. The distinction is if you're walking by the spirit God may very well give you revelation to speak in tongues for situations which require perfect prayer. He does that for me by making me feel a little sick inside. Listen carefully, stop and read this a few times until you see it - the manifestations of holy spirit are spiritual tools to help us when we're walking by the spirit.
This new light becomes even more intriguing when you stop to think that the bible was given by revelation.
Galatians 1:11,12
But I [Paul] certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
If you want to receive revelation, there's a bible full of it you can read. The entire bible is revelation. It wasn't given to anyone for their own personal use, it was given to them for us. That's why walking by the spirit begins with reading the bible, believing it and then living it. If you live by the principles of the bible when rightly divided and applied, you are walking by revelation because the word, the bible is revelation. Note also that this revelation to Paul came through the Christ in him. Paul operated the manifestations of revelation to receive the all truth which fulfilled the word of God.
Colossians 1:25-27
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation [administration] of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Do we need revelation from God to know that it's Christ in us the hope of glory? No, that revelation was given to Paul and it's written in the bible for us. We also don't need revelation to know that the mystery was hidden in God and was kept secret so the devil wouldn't know of his plans because that's written in the bible as well.
1 Corinthians 2:7,8
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, eventhe hiddenwisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The same is also true regarding homosexuality and everything else the bible addresses because it is all God-breathed, it was all given by revelation. The bible has to be our standard for truth, not the United Nations, the television, man-made churches or our newspapers.
2 Timothy 3:16,17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God [God-breathed], and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
The point is, if we're born again, if we're studying our bibles faithfully and doing our best to live it, as well as being tuned in to the Christ in us, then we're walking by the spirit. The revelation manifestations are there as extra tools to help us in situations where the bible does not have the information we need in order to help someone. Operating manifestations is part of walking by the spirit, not the other way round. You have to be walking by the spirit to be in a position to receive revelation.
Let's take this a step further. If you want revelation, then you're going to have to put yourself into situations where you need it. If you want revelation you're going to have to look for people to help. Isn't that exactly what we learned in the last chapter?
1 Corinthians 14:1
Follow after [diōkō, earnestly pursue] charity [agapē, the love of God], and desire [zēloō, earnestly desire] spiritual [pneumatikos, spiritual matters]gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
Sure when we're in the church we're to prefer tongues with interpretation and prophecy to speaking in tongues as they are manifestations that build up the church, but what about when we're not at church? What about all the time we're not actually at a church meeting, which would be the majority of our time? We are to earnestly pursue the love of God by earnestly desiring open doors to teach the word and minister the spirit, which is to operate manifestations to help people. Jesus Christ exemplified this as he was always looking for ways to help people. You earnestly pursue the love of God by seeking opportunity to deliver people from oppression by destroying, dismantling the works of the devil. This doesn't mean wandering around unbelievers all the time, it means looking for ways to help believers who you should be fellowshipping with every day. If new people are being added to the church on a regular basis, there will be plenty of opportunities to help!
1 John 3:8b,16
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he [Jesus Christ] laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost [holy spirit] and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus Christ was given the full measure of the spirit available at that time, and it was so he could go around doing good by healing all that were oppressed of the devil. Well, do we have holy spirit? Yes, and we can do greater works than Jesus Christ did.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
The manifestations are there so we can help others. We have speaking in tongues and believing for our own personal use, interpretation of tongues and prophecy for use in the church, but the revelation manifestations, as well as healing and miracles are there for us to use to help others in our everyday lives. The question is, are we looking for, are we earnestly pursuing, are we earnestly desiring and looking for ways to help people? The manifestations are there for us to use. God does not make you speak in tongues and God will not make you receive revelation either. Just as it is you who does the speaking in tongues, it is you who operates the revelation manifestations of word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and discerning of spirits. Are you putting yourself into situations where you need these manifestations so you can help people? If you do, they will be there. If you're working with people and running a home church, you'll receive more revelation than you know what to do with.
Now, we can't just barge into situations recklessly and attempt to force manifestations into operation.
Proverbs 26:17
He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
Putting yourself into situations where you can operate manifestations to help people begins with walking by the spirit. Earnestly desiring and earnestly pursuing does not mean barging in recklessly where you're not wanted. We need to have the open door. If people need healing, they will have to believe for it. You can't heal someone who isn't believing. Which of the manifestations are for our own personal use and profit? One of them is believing!
If you're walking by the spirit and looking for ways to help, that's when the doors will open and then the revelation manifestations will come into operation for you. Consider this record of Jesus Christ with the woman at the well.
John 4:5-8
Then cometh he [Jesus] to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Did Jesus Christ need revelation to talk to this woman? No, you don't need revelation to begin a conversation with someone. If you're at your lunch break at work, do you need revelation to begin conversations with people? If you're out walking along the beach and meet someone, do you need revelation to start a conversation with them? If you go to the pub and sit down next to folks, do you need revelation to start talking to them? If you go to your photography or guitar or running club, do you need revelation to chat with people? No, that's silly. Jesus Christ was thirsty so he asked the woman for a drink. Do you need revelation to go to the shop and buy a drink if you're thirsty?
John 4:9
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew [Judean], askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews [Judeans] have no dealings with the Samaritans.
The woman responded with a sincere spiritual question, and it got Jesus Christ's attention. He then continued the conversation to see if she was looking for genuine spiritual answers.
John 4:10-15
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
The woman was indeed spiritually hungry and looking for answers, so Jesus Christ then operated the revelation manifestations to see if there was a way to get her attention so he could help her. He was earnestly pursuing the love of God by earnestly desiring to operate manifestations so he could help her.
John 4:16-19
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
In this case, there was indeed revelation, and it did get her attention. She then opened her heart to him.
John 4:20,21
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
If this had been the 21st Century, the conversation may very well have gone something like this:
Our fathers worshipped in the Catholic church; others say that we should join the Mormons or the Way International, or join the Salvation Army, or go to the Methodist Church, or join the muslims, or go to a synagogue, or join the Jehovahs witnesses, or the Anglican church, or the Baptist church, or the Presbyterians, or the church of Scotland in order to worship God.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when it will not be available to worship God in any of those shithole places.
The conversation continued.
John 4:22-26
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews [Judeans].But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
What do you think her heart did when she realised she was talking to the messiah, the son of God? I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever that this woman was later born again when the gift of holy spirit was first made available. Was Jesus Christ operating manifestations when he struck up a conversation with the woman? No, he wasn't. Was he walking by the spirit? Yes, he was. It was walking by the spirit and earnestly pursuing opportunities to help people that opened the door to the manifestations. The manifestations are tools to help us walk by the spirit.
Before taking this further, we need to look at a few examples of the revelation manifestations being operated in the book of Acts to determine if there are any common traits they share which will help us understand them.
When Paul learned a better way on the road to Damascus and he was blinded, Ananias received revelation to go and minister healing to Paul. How did Ananias receive this revelation?
Acts 9:9-12
And he [Paul] was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
Ananias received revelation by seeing a vision in his mind. A vision is either a static or a moving picture. Ananias saw a vision, he saw a moving picture, a short video in his mind with sound. Notice also that Paul had just been born again and he was already receiving revelation before he had even spoken in tongues. He was also clearly believing to be healed. As soon as people have holy spirit, it's available to energise right away.
When Peter was praying on the housetop in Joppa, he received revelation to accompany some men and go and visit Cornelius the Roman centurion. How did Peter receive that revelation?
Acts 10:9-16
On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance [he saw a vision],
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Peter saw a vision, a moving picture, a video in his mind, and then he heard a voice. Ananias spoke in his vision as well and heard Jesus Christ's voice.
When Paul was looking for an open door to speak the word in Acts 16, how did the revelation to go to Macedonia come to him?
Acts 16:6-10
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost [holy spirit] to preach the word in Asia,After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
Paul received revelation by seeing a moving picture in his mind, a man of Macedonia waving to him and asking him to come and help him. Paul saw a vision and heard a voice. How did he know it was a man of Macedonia? If you saw a man in a kilt waving to you, you would know it was a Scotsman, right? Paul knew from the man's clothing where he was from because in those days folks wore traditional cultural clothing, they didn't all dress up in stupid suits. He may even have recognised the man's accent.
How did Paul receive revelation to stay in Corinth in Acts 18 when he was so used to travelling around?
Acts 18:9-11
Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
Paul saw a vision, a moving picture in his mind, and heard Jesus Christ speaking to him. There is definitely a pattern emerging here, wouldn't you say? We can safely assume then that the revelation manifestations of word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits involve our senses. We will either see a static or moving picture, hear something, taste something, feel something, or smell something. That is how the revelation manifestations work. When you think about it, that makes sense because the word revelation actually means to reveal and all we have to learn with is our five senses. Revelation is God giving us information by way of the Christ in us to one or more of our five senses so we can help people.
Now, when we're walking by the spirit, often we just know things right? We perceive things, we just know we have to do something, or go somewhere or whatever. This perceptiveness is not us operating the revelation manifestations, it's part of walking by the spirit. They are not the same thing.
Acts 14:8-10
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
It says Paul perceived. He just knew the man was believing to be healed. Perception is also a human quality, an innate human ability. Here's an account of a scribe perceiving information when they were trying to catch Jesus Christ out in words so they could incriminate him.
Mark 12:28
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
This kind of perception is a perception in the mind, it isn't a moving picture, and nor do you hear anything. As you do not get information through any of your senses, this kind of perception is not revelation. Natural man can hone his perceptive skills and develop what they term peripheral vision. Well, so can we, only to a much greater degree. As we walk by the spirit and speak in tongues, our spiritual perception will grow and develop.
Hebrews 5:13,14
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
This perception grows as we grow spiritually, but it isn't revelation. This is part of walking by the spirit with Christ as our head. As we walk by the spirit, tuned in to the Christ in us, then doors will open for us to energise the manifestations of holy spirit to help people. The manifestations are tools to help us as we walk by the spirit.
Keeping these truths in mind, it's easy to see and understand now how Ananias received revelation to go and see Paul in Damascus. The revelation was not for his own profit, it was for Paul's. Peter received revelation to go with the men sent by Cornelius so the word would go to the Gentiles. When Paul was in Asia looking for open doors to speak the word, the revelation was to go into Macedonia. That revelation wasn't for himself, for his own profit, was it? When it comes to revelation, the first thing we must look for is the profit. Who is it for? If the profit would be primarily for us, the revelation manifestations simply will not work. If we're looking to profit ourselves by operating the gift of holy spirit, we have speaking in tongues and believing.
Back in Lystra, Paul perceived the man was believing to be healed.
Acts 14:8-10
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith [believing] to be healed,
Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
There were a number of manifestations working together that day in Lystra, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits, and gifts of healing. We can also safely assume Paul was speaking in tongues. First, Paul perceived the man was believing for healing. There's a manifestation right there on the man's part. Paul then got the green light to minister to him. That would have been word of knowledge. How Paul got that go sign we don't know, but it may very well have been compassion. In this case there was no devil spirit to remove, so discerning of spirits wasn't applicable, and the word of wisdom was to simply tell the man in a loud voice to stand up on his feet. When the man carried out that instruction, he stood up and received the healing.
How God communicates with you by revelation is personal. He will communicate with you on your level, in language you understand by way of your five senses. The most common instances seem to be pictures we see and sounds we hear, but he may reveal information in other ways, such as by smell, taste or touch. I often feel compassion inside which is my green light to get involved in a situation to help people. I feel sick inside when I need to speak in tongues and pray perfectly for something or someone. When a job is done, for example if I'm ministering or writing a chapter of this class, he lets me know by flushing me inside with a deep peace that goes right through my whole body.
When I was having problems regarding teaching on the bride of Christ and the body of Christ in chapter 63 because I knew I didn't understand it, he showed me a picture in my mind through the Christ in me. That's revelation. I've probably read as much on the bride of Christ and the body of Christ as anyone, and the information I needed to fully understand the figures of speech just was not available. I needed new light because there was no more I could do. I had done my best, I'd studied everything worth reading and waded through a sea of horseshit that wasn't, and that information was not available. The revelation wasn't primarily for my benefit either, it was for yours, although I do profit from it as well. See how this all works? It's easy hey.
All this revelation God has given me in this class isn't for me either, it's for you. The revelation manifestations are not there for my own personal profit, they're there so I can help others. God knew I would teach it, which is the only reason he's given it to me. If this information was available somewhere else in the world, I wouldn't be receiving revelation either because God would expect me to go to wherever his word was and study it. The word I'm teaching regarding God not dwelling in temples made with hands is just not available anywhere else in the world. This also means that if anyone in the world wants the truth I teach, they will have to come here to get it, God isn't going to give them revelation when it's already available.
By the way, the revelation manifestations being there to help others and not being for our own personal use obviously includes discerning of spirits. You will only ever receive revelation regarding the presence of devil spirits if it would help someone, perhaps so you could then receive word of knowledge and word of wisdom on whether you could cast them out or not. Always remember, devil spirits are powerful so never underestimate them. Respect them for what they are. It's the power of God that brings deliverance from devil spirits, not anything we do with our five senses.
This brings up another interesting point we might as well touch on. I've been getting quite a bit of revelation writing this class, but do you know something? For years and years, I got none at all. That's right, nothing, not one jot or tittle by way of revelation came to me regarding new light in the word until I started working this class. Why? Well, because revelation isn't for my own profit and I wasn't writing any classes. Besides, there was plenty available that I didn't know and God expected me to study my ass off so I could rightly divide his word.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
That study began with Dr Wierwille's ministry, and for over 30 years I studied everything his ministry had to offer. It was only many years after his death and after his ministry had been transformed into a horseshit temple where men walked by their senses rather than by the spirit of Christ, when there was no more they could teach me and there was nowhere else to go, that God began giving me revelation so I could write this class.
Listen, I love you, but don't expect God to give you revelation regarding new light in his word if you've not studied this class and learned all you can from it. Study all that's available and make the word your own, and then God can touch your heart in special personal ways when you're studying and reading and show you amazing perspectives you perhaps hadn't thought of before. When he shows you stuff that touches your heart like that, be sure to teach it at the very next home church you go to because chances are it will be new light to someone there. Remember, Christ is our head, not men, so you have a right and a duty to teach at your home church what God is touching your heart with. Your home church leader should make it available to teach, and if there are a few of you bubbling over with stuff God has shown you in his word, open your mouth and get in there and teach when you have an opportunity. This is how we keep our home churches fresh and alive in the present truth.
Another thing that has helped me understand how revelation works is by spending God's money. He always, without exception, gives me revelation when he wants me to spend his money, but he never gives me revelation when I'm spending my own. When God wants me to spend his money, I know because I get that peaceful feeling inside. It's God's way of giving me a green light. A few times I've thought of good ways I thought God should spend his money, I've gone to him but the peaceful feeling wasn't there so I didn't spend the money.
When it comes to my own money, there's never any revelation. Why? I don't need it, that's why. It's my money, I have a brain, I have a budget, and God isn't going to interfere with that. My money is my responsibility. When I need something for myself, I don't need revelation, I need to do my homework and budget for it. When I'm sure I know what I'm buying and the money is in my budget, I find a supplier and make the purchase. Revelation isn't needed for that. If I make mistakes and have to live with something that doesn't do the job properly, that isn't God's fault, it's mine for not doing all my homework before spending the money.
This brings us to another intriguing point. As the revelation manifestations are not there for our own use, would we therefore require revelation to operate the manifestation of believing? No, we wouldn't. Do you need revelation to speak in tongues? No, that's just plain silly. Unless God needs me to speak in tongues for specific situations I don't know anything about, which comes by way of a sick feeling inside, I don't need revelation to speak in tongues. When I do get revelation to speak in tongues, it is always for someone else's profit.
Believing is there for our own personal use, it's ours to energise just like speaking in tongues. That's why I don't need revelation to believe for good weather if I'm outdoors and need it. I speak in tongues, picture blue skies, and as long as I keep my mind stayed on blue skies and continue to speak in tongues, the sun comes through. If I lose my concentration and stop speaking in tongues, I don't get the results. Same with problem solving, no matter what it is. God has shown me through Christ on literally thousands of occasions how to solve problems at work, with computers, with cars, with personal health issues, and a thousand other things. That information came because I was walking by the spirit and I was believing, it didn't come by revelation. We have speaking in tongues and believing at our disposal for our own personal use. If we don't operate them though, nothing will happen.
Would there be any exceptions regarding revelation when operating the manifestation of believing? Yes, if other people are involved who would profit from our believing, as in Moses parting the Red Sea. In that situation Moses needed revelation on what exactly to believe for so they could all escape. If God's people are involved, God may very well give you revelation on what to believe for so you all profit. The distinctions between the manifestations may be subtle but they are not difficult to understand if you simply keep an eye on the profit.
Learning to see the profit when manifesting holy spirit is important, and not just for determining when we can and when we can't energise certain manifestations, but also in distinguishing between the genuine and the counterfeit. Learning to see spiritual profit will help us as we walk by the spirit.
It's not difficult to walk by the spirit, it just requires walking away from temples made with hands run by men who walk by their senses and who make everything so damn complicated and burdensome.
